The University of Cincinnati has supported club lacrosse since the 1970’s with a mixed degree of success. Prior to the 2003/04 season the club had slipped out of contention, and for the most part out of memory. However, in 2003 the Cincinnati Bearcats re-emerged on the lacrosse scene, and this time they were here to stay. The most recent incarnation of the University of Cincinnati Lacrosse Club has only been around a few years, but has quickly established a name for itself, both in the Midwest, and throughout the entire NCLL.

Previous Seasons

2003/04: In the Bearcats inaugural season they finished with a record of 6-5. Considering the very light roster, as well as limited practice time the team was proud of their effort, and showed steady signs of improvement as the season progressed.

2004/05: In the teams second year of existence they came out of nowhere to compile a 10-2 record and gain their first ever bid into the NCLL Tournament.

2005/06: The 2006 season saw a real increase in the level of competition throughout the league as the Bearcats just managed to come out above the .500 with a 7-5 record. Cincinnati received a bid into the NCLL Tournament and was defeated in the first round by Slippery Rock.

2006/07: Cincinnati had a disappointing season going 8-7, and losing tough games to in state rivals OSU, OU, and Miami. The Bearcats did not earn an invitation to the NCLL Tournament, and finished third in DII Midwest.

2007/08: The Bearcats compiled a 13-3 regular season record, earning their first DII Midwest championship and another bid to the NCLL Tournament. Cincinnati beat Slippery Rock and John Carroll in the first two rounds of the Tournament, and advanced to the Final Four in Lynchburg, West Virginia, where they lost in the National Championship 12-10 to Courtland State.

2008/09: Cincinnati had its most impressive regular season on record, compiling a 16-3 regular season record and bringing home a second consecutive DII Midwest Championship. Their season ended early as they exited the NCLL Tournament in the first round at the hands of Slippery Rock.

2009/10: The Bearcats came out strong and had a great season filled with firsts. In route to their first Midwest Lacrosse Festival Championship, UC was able to knock off rival Ohio University for the first time as well. In addition to the MLF championship, UC also won the Capitol championship on their way to a 15-4 record and won their third consecutive DII Midwest Championship. However, the season once again ended earlier then expected as UC lost in the NCLL final four to Lynchburg.
