Cincinnati Announces Team Awards

The Cincinnati Bearcats would like to announce the results of the first annual team awards elections. The team administration, consisting of Coaches Kevin Bissmeyer, and Mike Noonan, as well as President Brandon Mowrey and Vice President Paul McKay, made their selections in four categories: Team MVP, Offensive MVP, Defensive MVP, and Rookie MVP.
Team MVP: This award is given to the player who not only contributed outstanding effort and results on the field, but helped lead the team in every other aspect of lacrosse off the field. This years Team MVP is awarded to goalie Kyle O’Neal, for his outstanding service inside the pipes, and outside the lines.
Offensive MVP: This award is given to the player who provided the most impressive, and positive offensive contribution to the team throughout the season. The 2008-09 Offensive MVP is Bobby Nagle, who finished in the Cincinnati top 3 in both goals and assists, and was one of the most consistent players on the team.
Defensive MVP: The Defensive MVP is awarded to the player who plays the best on defense and the transition game. This award is open to goalies, LSM’s, midfielders, and defenders. This years award will go to midfielder, and defensive specialist Brandon Mowrey for his ability to take on the other teams best Middie every game.
Rookie MVP: The Rookie MVP is awarded to the first year player, whether freshmen or transfer, who performs the best and/or shows the most potential. This years award for Rookie MVP goes by unanimous decision to Matt Keller, who finished second in goals for a Bearcat rookie, and led the team in face off percentage.
The Bearcats would like to congratulate these four players on their performance and accomplishments over the past season, and look forward to seeing how they build on these performances going into next season.
